Currently we're loosely affiliated with FOSS@MAGIC & OSSN. How much do we want to formalize this, and do we want to put these on our website? Also, do we want to add StickerMule as a sponsor? This is a discussion topic for eboard meeting.

2018-10-31 Eboard Meeting

The club is open to placing sponsors and affiliate logos/names on a dedicated page. We are less enthused about including sponsors in the footer of every page unless they require us to do so.

The Club Manual and Club Financial Documentation do not contain specific verbiage on how clubs should interact with sponsors.

If we receive items from a sponsor, its likely that we need to itemize and provide that list to the club office who will issue a receipt to the sponsor.

Action Items

@jibby0 ask club office about rules/guidelines for club Sponsorship by external entities
@ct-martin will incorporate sponsor/affiliates into website design once we know the terms of a sponsor like StickerMule
@jrtechs asks OSSN to see if they have a preferred logo / usage for our affiliation page
@jrtechs @jwflory - GitHub (campus clubs, sponsorship, etc?) is this a thing, if so, what does it look like?

This is blocked until we hear back from Justin at StickerMule.

We should probably open this as a new ticket. I know they have a program but I have not initiated anything yet. It might not happen this semester.

The terms are placing a logo in the footer of our home page. Justin (StickerMule Justin) was clear about the requirement and the purpose is for this to be a simple partnership. The point is to keep the barrier as low as possible.

A sponsors page is nice, but if it requires too much work to do in the short-term, then putting it on the home page is equally sufficient.

Sticker Muel wanted a logo on our website.

Logos were added to the site; at this point the only part of this issue left is to figure out how GitHub's program works and possibly reach out to them. @jwflory also mentioned making a new issue for this, but I leave that judgement to someone else.

Cool. Given the above context and completed work on the website, I think this ticket is all set. We can open specific discussion for GitHub partnership in a new ticket.
