Describe the bug

Unable to boot on Anbernic RG353V

How to reproduce

  1. Flash a reliable microsd card
  2. Insert into "INT" slot on RG353V
  3. Press power button
  4. See Android boot instead of ROCKNIX
  5. Repeat using a different microsd card and observe the same result.

Context

I have been on JELOS, but it is EOL now. While looking for alternatives I tried ROCKNIX for the first time and I was unable to get it to work on my RG353V. Other distros like ArkOS did work on my device, and JELOS also still worked, so I know my device can successfully boot a different OS from the microsd cards I am trying, but for some reason ROCKNIX will not boot.

The files I flashed to my microsdcard were ROCKNIX-RK3566.aarch64-20240815.img and ROCKNIX-RK3566.aarch64-20240702.img

@r3claimer thank you for the quick response. In that case, the release notes need to be updated, because they do show the RG353V as being supported, EG: https://github.com/ROCKNIX/distribution/releases/tag/20240815

Please read the whole wiki article.

@r3claimer thank you again. I did not read the entire wiki page, just the section notices at the top about bootloaders, which is what I thought you were pointing out. The #pmv-users anchor text did not show up when I searched the page for RG353. These are the kind of details I'd expect to find in the release notes documentation link https://github.com/ROCKNIX/distribution/tree/20240815/documentation/PER_DEVICE_DOCUMENTATION/RK3566, but it seems I was looking in the wrong place. Sorry to have wasted your time.

Release notes are just that... "notes" and not full install instructions on every device we support.
