still doesn't work with any microphone, both my headset mic and handheld ones will be maxed out on windows's sound settings and only go up a 6th in game
5 seconds into typing this, i disabled mic boost on my headset mic and it worked, so idk what's going on actually.
Same behavior here. It seems to be auto-adjusting levels, so if I manually adjust the volume knob for the microphone so it stops picking sounds for a while and then turn it up again, the game picks up the whole volume for a few seconds and slowly decreases what it's picking up until barely anything goes through. Same behavior was observed on three different microphones. Makes activating star power very difficult on rock band 3
Did some additional testing on Karaoke Revolution Presents - American Idol Encore 2 (USA) and it seems like on this game, the mic volume input levels auto-adjusting doesn't happen, so it may be something specific to Rock Band 3 on the emulator...
Quick summary
When playing Vocals in Rock Band 3, the microphone volume either starts very low or starts normal and goes low after a few seconds of silence.
For reference, I'm on windows. The microphone is set to the highest volume and hits the maximum volume in the settings app and in Discord.
This is happening with all of my microphones, including my FIFINE A6V and the Official Rock Band Logitech microphone.
This affects gameplay by having the volume too low to register loud sounds such as a scream to activate Overdrive/Starpower or being able to hit Tap notes (where you slap the microphone and it makes a pop noise to register the hits)
Muting my microphone for a few seconds seems to make it work properly again, but as soon as I go silent again it does it again.
