[GTA V Map reveal-saving progress] #15219

Open MOnkeMan5009 opened 9 months ago

Quick summary

The pause map revealing progress doesnt save

Details

The map normally unevils itself when having explored an area, but after quitting and even saving it goes back to how it was, like it wasnt progressed at all. Someone said it might be something related to rpcs3 not being able to cache that in

Attach a log file

RPCS3.log

Attach capture files for visual issues

GTAV map seems to save to the shader cache. Works fine when flying around discovering the map and then rebooting the game on the same RPCS3 version using the same graphics drivers to see the map is still discovered. Clearing the shader cache resets the whole map to undiscovered. So I don't believe this is an RPCS3 issue. This doesn't happen on real PS3 cause the cache is never invalidated and the drivers never updated.

@Megamouse Can be reopen if I will prove logs and stuff as I don't wanna duplicate issues?

In my case it's just like even loading save again on exact same boot ('session' I believe would be better wording), RPCS3 version.

Starting point: CleanShot 2024-02-19 at 20 40 26@2x

After driving for 3 mins to discover part: CleanShot 2024-02-19 at 20 43 27@2x

After loading a save game: CleanShot 2024-02-19 at 20 50 13@2x

On side note there are also brightness issues looking at the sky, it gets worse when you get into helicopter, but it's mentioned on wiki, so I guess it is what it is.

Log file:

RPCS3.log (sorry for the mess at the end, it was bootlooping after pressing "Exit Game")

no shader caches reset or cleared, same thing happens every boot/quick save

mavethee commented 9 months ago

@Lethality5001 if it was any, you would see it here that issue was mentioned in certain PR, patience is a key 👌🏻

I'm not able to reproduce this 1. I'll keep trying but my map progress saves fine.

also, issue is NOT when reloading a savefile or revealing it and it staying while playing the game, the issue is after you quit and enter again
