Title Armored Core 4 BLUS30027 Crashes during cutscene movies with deadlock #9391

Open Caladain opened 3 years ago

Caladain commented 3 years ago

Quick summary

Randomly (like all good race conditions) AC4 will deadlock while playing any cutscene. Intro movie, main menu movie, mission briefings, mission debriefings, and chapter movies.)

Details

It's pretty easily to repro (on my machine). Start game, start Intro movie, and let it play. 8/10 times it will deadlock during this movie with default settings (one adjustment, you must set the framelimit to 30fps for AC4).

30fps framelimit still causes FMVs to deadlock more often than not. Auto framelimit is seemingly issue-free, though.

Issue still present on AC4A (BLUS30187) on 0.026-14603, but I'm using Framelimit set to Auto (runs mostly locked at 60FPS). Subtitles (if they exist) continue changing, despite both game and video appearing frozen. Exceptionally, the main menu background video may also freeze but you can still use the menu as normal. Going into "Load Game" and back allows the video to play back as normal without issue. Log does not appear to throw any particular errors. Videos also show slight pacing issues, not sure if relevant.

Switching PPU Decoder from Recompiler (LLVM) to Interpreter (Static) appears to greatly improve the freezing/crashing issue.
