Hi, I can't get vlc to work on raspberry pi at all. I've tried GUI and CLI, both to no avail. I have tried it on buster and bullseye on raspberry pi 3 and 4. When GUI is enabled, I just get a black screen. The video appears to play, but it doesn't show up and I don't hear anything. Can't play audio files either.
Why can't you be more like omxplayer, it's simple and it works reliably
