I would opt for live coding, or regular check-ins at a bare minimum
Live coding can be problematic for learners with poor eyesight.
Maybe a compromise with some live coding / some self led. Maybe also some "fill in the gaps" notebooks.
Consider "flipped classroom".
Is the self-led approach here OK? Should we move it to live-coding? Should we have little check-ins after each "module"? I think, yes.
