Printer doesn't actually print when entering the printer command, just outputs the letter 'H' #88

Basically the title. Able to connect to the printer (one of the HP Laserjet models), able to run commands such as "status" and "info", verified that port 9100 is open, yet cannot print. I'll enter the command as usual, e.g [IP]>print "test", and the printer will make a clicking sound and say its printing from the computer its connected to, but not actually print anything. After entering this command, the letter 'H' will appear in the line below, and the line below that will pop out to PRET interface for that specific IP. Anybody else have this issue?

I end up using the command info status, which seems to activate the printer so that it prints it
