Extending the predefined archetypes by a school and kindergarden type #722

Open Dawac opened 2 years ago

Dawac commented 2 years ago

We've created and tested archetypes for schools and kindergardens in 2 thesis. The archetypes were validated according to data we collected for these buildings in the Aachen area. In general the archetype would follow definitions from DIN and SIA, so there's no Aachen-specific data or definition involved for the archetype. The profiles were compared to collected monitoring-data in order to validate the assumptions in the norms.

We would follow the approach for the intitute archetype in order to adjust the parameters for the new archetype.

Hello! Are the two extra archetypes planned to be pushed? Or are they currently available somewhere else? I am working on a project for simulating building energy consumption in Berlin and most of the buildings in our dataset are schools. Thank you in advance!

Hi,

actually there are two branches tagged to the issue by the name starting with “issue722” that have an archetype for schools and kindergardens. The models still have to be reviewed and then pushed, but you can try work with them right away. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Cheers David

Hello, David! Thanks a lot. Your extension seems to work off the shelf :^) One question regarding the thermal zones: apart from the percents of the net leased ares, do the zones differ from each other i.e. how is the gym different from the library? I cannot find any subclasses 'Gym' or 'Library' derived from ThermalZone but maybe I'm not looking where I should...

Also, may I ask for further details on how you adjusted the percents for the class school? You mentioned DIN and SIA - are these some 'archetype norms'? Concretely, we would need some realistic values for theaters, police offices and fire departments and are having a hard time finding someone to reveal these numbers to us or point us in the right direction. Thank you!
