[Image issue] Bluetooth devices pair but cannot connect. #3

Please let me know if this is not the right place to post issues about the released image.

First, thank you so much for making this possible. I have been waiting for this moment ever since I heard of this device in Jan 2024.

The installation on my PopOS machine is smooth. But when using the device, I found the device has some Bluetooth issue. I tried to pair to my Pixel Buds Pro, and it did with no issue. I saw it on the paired device list, and can even see the notification showing the battery level of the buds. But I cannot connect the audio to the device.

I tried another SONY headset and the same thing happened.

Please treat this as a issue report. No pressure on the time line of fixing it. I appreciate all the efforts you put into this project.

same with a keyboard for me. cannot get past the pin screen on the lockscreen and have to use a keyboard first. Tried connecting one and it connects and then it will not connect again or allow input.

The pin issue can be solved by changing the DPI via adb

adb shell wm density 210

210 will make most of the system UI elements display properly on the screen such as the broken volume bar and the pin pad.

Some app UI will still be broken and require an even smaller DPI. For example, Spotify needs a low DPI of 170 to display properly.

But yes, if Bluetooth keyboards are also not working, this could be the same Bluetooth issue.

I'm having the same issue. I can pair the R1 with my phone, earbud...but it get disconnected just after a few seconds.

Also, is it normal that connecting an USB keyboard/mouse to the device does not work?

Same issue here. I tried a wide range of bluetooth devices including some bluetooth LE stuff, but after pairing it never makes the connection, and the connect button after you select a paired device does nothing

Same issue here. Airpods paired but would not work.

Also having the same issue, have tried connecting my beats studio buds through the app multiple times to no success

Also having the same issue. Nothing bluetooth actually works with audio. The speakers are strong, but they sound like an AM radio. Need that BT functionality... THANK YOU!

Adding logcat of errors when my paired airpods connect (but audio does not switch to them). Redacted MAC replaced with "ZZ:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ": bluetooth_audio_fail.txt

Def an image issue. I switched to a gsi of the latest version of lineage os. Bluetooth is working but it has alooooot of other bugs.

Comment sent for my R1...

any bugs that make you regret switching? or would you say having bluetooth functionality makes it worth it? any differences in battery performance?

  1. Can't use scroll wheel for volume (not really a bug just lack of hardware support)
  2. The default launcher randomly crashes as well as a few other apps
  3. Some apps refuse to install, such as google calendar
  4. Google Assistant doesn't work

Just a note, I was able to get the camera rotation working by rooting the phone with magisk then using the macrodroid app to run a shell command echo 180 > /sys/devices/platform/step_motor_ms35774/orientation

I also used macrodroid to make holding the power button bring up the volume panel, although this is still a lot more tedious compared to having hardware controls.

Also battery life's about the same, I plan on upgrading the battery somewhere down the line.

And yes the Bluetooth support makes it worth it for me, but as soon as a new rom is released on this repo I plan on reflashing immediately!

As this repo is not about the image but the escape process, I mentioned "image issue" to point out that the issue is not in this repo but related to the system image released in this repo.

to help the repo owner focus on the bug and provide fixes, please open another GitHub issue when the discussion becomes boarder
