Rabby for Brave fails to find my ledger wallet #1974

Open fmoreau opened 10 months ago

fmoreau commented 10 months ago

Hi,

I installed Rabby wallet extension 0.92.45 for Brave.

I'm trying to connect my ledger to the wallet but Rabby (or maybe Brave) fails to find the Ledger (as HID device).

Could anyone help me solving this issue ?

Thanks!

Do you have this pop-up box coming up?

I have the pop-up box but it says "No compatible devices found." 2024-01-26-085448_458x442_scrot

brave://settings/content/hidDevices?search=hid

Check that hid device permissions are turned on

I just checked and the permission for HID devices is turned on (like in your screenshot).

Please follow the steps below

fmoreau commented 9 months ago

Sorry but what do you mean by "open ethereum app" ? open rabby wallet and connect my ledger to the wallet ?

heisenberg-2077 commented 9 months ago

Once the device is plugged in, unlock and open the Ethereum App(Press the buttons on both sides to open). If you don't see the Ethereum app, download ledger live and install the Ethereum app in it. IMG_0016

ah ok, that is what I already did during my first try.

Just ran into a similar issue, so sharing what worked for me..

Check if you can connect with Ledger Live. Or another wallet/browser. It's likely not a specific Brave / Rabby issue.

Make sure to check ledger docs for additional steps / troubleshooting. E.g. I recently re-installed Linux, and forgot to run udev https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005165269-Fix-USB-connection-issues-with-Ledger-Live?support=true

And make sure you have a proper data (not just charging) cable.

same issue. The ledger Support site has the solution https://support.ledger.com/article/4404389606417-zd?redirect=false

under "Linux installation", Point 2. Add and reload the udev rules to allow USB access to your Ledger device: ....

that did the trick. Forgot that on my new machine (just as wslyvh commented before), had it running fine on my old one but didn't remember the udev part.

I do not have any issue to connect my wallet with Ledger Live.
