message not sent. (select to review the message and try again is what it says) #156

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.trying a new sms and sending it. The sms is not sent and the error message
appears saying message not sent.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
cant send any SMS.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
froyo 2.2.2 on B7610(with windows 6.5 installed)

Please provide any additional information below.
it seems the messaging works ok with the fresh installations but then i think
with SOD or unproper shutdown or freeze and softreset the messaging starts
giving error. i have done fresh installations 3 times now and after few good
days(where messaging works fine) of each fresh installation i start getting
this error. or may be this error is because the system clock does not work
properly ( its slower i need to tick the 12/24 hour format and then the clock
shows proper time , but after doing that too the sms are not sent.)

could this be a result of the network provider issue you also started an issue
for? Sending a message trying the sms settings of IDEA network when you are on
AIRTEL?

if possible, post your sms settings right after sending fails.

Hi. I am using "airtel" connection and have checked that the network is airtel
only. I am sure its not an issue reguarding network provider. The other issue
that I has reported reguarding network happens only when you boot android.
After some time when it selects home network automatically then no isue.
Reguarding the sms setting which you asked for can you guide me where can I
find it so that I can post here.

it could be that it loads wrong sms service, when you are on the wrong
provider. And it could be that it keeps using the wrong sms service from wrong
provider when you are on your own providers network

does it occur when you boot android with roaming option disabled in network
settings? (this could also solve your issue 157. I think it is not an android
issue but an issue from your provider, not sure offcourse!)

May be u are correct that this can solve both the issue. Well I have data
roaming disabled then too I am getting this error. Is there any other place
where I should see into android to disable roaming. So that I shall try to do
that too and do a reboot.

Sorry Apn lock dint work. well i also just noticed that when i boot windows it
selects idea network first then it automatically shifts to airtel which is my
home network. but sms is working fine on windows. Can i edit something in
windows so that i can start with airtel (my home network) and not with idea. i
think this may solve the problem.

So then it is not a froyo problem. I read several comments on internet, when
searching on google, that (some) people having this problem (on different
phones on different OS'es) solved it by requesting their provider for a new
simcard.
I think you have to investigate yourself on Google AND ask your provider.

HELLO,
I THINK THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE THE PHONE WAS NOT TAKING THE SMSC NO. AND WHEN
I TRY TO UPDATE IT SAYS UPDATE FAILED. AND IF I ENTER A THE NUMBER AND GO BACK
THE NUMBER DISAPPEARS AGAIN.
TRYING TO GET A SOLUTION FOR THAT.
pLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN DO SOMETHING FOR THIS ..

All I want to do is clear this notification. permanently. my picture texts were
not set up and weren't going through and now they are.
So I just want to clear the notifier. that is all.
