revise definition: " The particle track penumbra is the region where secondary electrons released by the primary particle, transitioning a medium, are the exclusive agents of energy deposition due to multiple scattering and energy loss of the charged particles as they interact with the atoms and molecules of the medium." Makes sense to define this a s a spatial region ( BFO:000006) as it has extent that can be measured but is a concept rather than a material entity.
