This should be an equivalent class inferred from attributes on radiation qualities.

Could you please elaborate on what is meant by inferred from the attributes of beam qualities? It appears in rbo.owl that the only definitive beam quality classes have to do with non-ionizing radiation.

DanBerrios commented 11 months ago

@jmskip Do you recall in what context I generated this issue? Was it meant as a general issue that we should put in axioms like "an XYZ radiaton beam" is composed of XYZ class of radiation? For example, a gamma radiation beam necessarily is composed of gamma radiation?

jmskip commented 11 months ago

I don't remember, but I know that both "beam" (which is jargon but commonly used jargon) and "quality" which is a much abused term the use of which has strayed far from Rossi's original definition (https://doi.org/10.2307/3570787) are problematic and RBO would be grateful for RTO's input.

Defer until we can identify the need to have this concept.

@Bayesianworld Can you please comment on and/or provide direction?

Sure. Will look at it in a bit.

I just downloaded your latest .owl file and do not find this class? I overwrote the earlier version--was it not yet promoted to the published version?

DanBerrios commented 4 months ago

We have implemented "beam composition" which captures much of what this concept does.... We are deferring this for now....
