Issues with scrobbling #3

Hi there,

I apologize for the very vague title but I couldn't think of any other way to condense it into a title. I've been using the Google Music Scrobbler since June this year and it's always performed very reliably for me. However, in the last couple of days it's almost 100% stopped working for me. I updated the scrobbler to version 1.4.0 and since then, the music that scrobbles is very hit and miss. I'm logged into the Firefox extension with my last.fm profile, scrobbling is enabled, and every so often a track here and there does scrobble for me, but the majority of the songs do not. The old version of the app required me to sync to my last.fm account directly in the setting section of Google Play Music, something that no longer exists, so I don't know if that is a factor in any way or not.

I'm on Windows 7 and using 56.0.1 (64-bit) Firefox. If anyone could provide me with any insights on this issue, that would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew

Apologies for the unreliable scrobbling, development has been rushed a bit with the upcoming release of Firefox 57 (when support for legacy addons is dropped).

I've just released a new version of the extension (v1.5.0-beta.2) that fixes some initialization and scrobbling issues.

If you are still finding scrobbling to be unreliable with this version, could you:

  1. On the addon options page, set all the "Log Level" options to "Debug"
  2. Open the browser console (Ctrl + Shift + J)
  3. Open Google Play Music, and play a few tracks
  4. Copy or Screenshot the messages displayed in the browser console. Ensure you include any errors (red messages).

The old version of the app required me to sync to my last.fm account directly in the setting section of Google Play Music, something that no longer exists, so I don't know if that is a factor in any way or not.

Options can now be found via the Firefox "Addons" page:
