Unity Studio won't run on Windows XP #20

Open Yuuyatails opened 8 years ago

Yuuyatails commented 8 years ago

For whatever reason, Unity Studio won't on my PC that was running Windows XP OS. Whenever I double-clicked the executable, the program won't run. Note that I have the .NET Framework 4.0 installed in my PC.

Is the Unity Studio relies on somethings that are only available on later versions of Windows OS? If so, why RaduMC didn't post the OS requirement here?

I don't know why you're still using Windows XP. You should upgrade to Windows 10. RaduMu is busy a lot and does not have time for this project from what I've seen.

My executables won't run either, and I'm on windows 10.

To Stellarspace: I hope I can do that but I can't, since my PC is too old (It's a Intel Core 2 Duo-powered PC) and I don't have enough money to buy a new PC.

To Biowarejak: Have you installed the .NET Framework 4.0 on your PC?

I'll have to check, afk at the moment. Been awhile since I took a look at the .NET files

Apologies for the long delay, real life got in the way and I had to transition to a new computer. I will attempt to build tonight, provided I can once again find the required references.

-EDIT-

Using the latest updates available for .NET and MSVS, it still does not do anything when I attempt to open the build.

-EDIT 2-

Running the debugger tells me that fmod.dll could not be loaded. I'm really not sure what's up with that, but it stands to reason that this could kill the program before it gets to run.

@Biowarejak I'll fix the building from source issue if possible.
