Unable to change eDirectory password - receive PWM 5017 error #686

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Login to PWM
2. Step through password change process
3. Save changed password, error occurs

What is the expected output? 
I expected to see a screen that indicated the new password had been saved. 

What do you see instead?
Instead I get the PWM 5017 "If this occurs repeatedly contact the HelpDesk" text

What version of PWM are you using?
1.7.0

What ldap directory and version are you using?
eDirectory 8.7

This may be a replication issue (too slow). Please continue your question in 
the forum as it is unlikely to be a PWM issue, but more likely a configuration 
issue on the directory side.

What I've discovered is that the password is actually being changed despite the 
error.
