The changes to "system folders" between windows XP and Vista have made things
more complicated than they should be with regards to edcasts config files. Not
much I can do about that without totally rewriting oddsocks code - I've done a
lot on this already, but it's far from perfect
In windows 7, user writable files (config/log) will default to
\user\username\appdata\local\edcast* folder - the last part of the name depends
on which version (standalone or asio)
With the DSP version, the config files should be written in a folder in the
\user\username\appdata\???\winamp folder - i.e. whereever winamp stores it's
config files etc. If you don't have winamp, technically you shouldn't use the
winamp version ;) plus it throws the logic of where to find/put the config files
One way to fix all config problems is to make the folder where edcast is
installed writable by all users - i.e. modify the security settings of the
folder to allow full control by ALL users
