"Spelling Requests" existed in the old "Google SOAP Search API Reference":
http://code.google.com/apis/soapsearch/reference.html#1_3
It would be nice to have it in Search API.

@leegee
Unfortunately, the closest thing Yahoo's APIs have to Google's "Did you
mean"/suggest
functionality is a spelling api. It is not exactly the same thing, because
Google's
"Did you mean" may offer terms that are not spelled correctly IF they appear on
the
web and include relevant information.

I'm un-starring this request (and a handful of others) because I'm sick to
death of
receiving emails every time anybody posts a "me too" comment. Google, in the
name of
all that is good and pure, PLEASE separate voting and comment subscription into
two
distinct features. Meanwhile consider my comment a vote in the absence of a
star to
back it up.

Please add this feature. Since we are able to customize search plugin
with/without
search control, will make a really very big difference. Though you guys don't
have
much time, but people like me need this feature who uses this api.

@jarlaxle180: Unfortunately, the api the you have referenced is NOT a public
API. Google has provided
no license by which the general public can access it for their own
applications. Therefore, utilzing it, as
easy as it may be, is illegal, and Google would be well within its rights to
blok your access to the service
or even pursue legal action against you. Not to mention, it's just not cool to
hack stuff withiut
permission. For these reasons, I would strongly advise against utilizing this
service in your applications
and instead wait for Google or someone else to officially release a suggestion
service.

Another reason not to use it, that here give a 400 bad request.
It is a cool and increasingly relevant feature to have. It's strange to have
to tell
people to leave the site to search my site the best using google.
