In theory the visitors to any site that uses a library loaded from
ajax.googleapis.com via the Google Loader with an API key or directly via
referencing the .js in a <script> tag can tracked / counted.
I would imagine that Google are going to calculate aggregate metrics for the
use of this content, but I could use some transparency in exactly what's
happening.
Reading
http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/about/corporate/company/privacy_principles.html
indicates that some form of disclosure is desirable - even if it's of the form
of 'we don't track anything at all, not even in aggregate'.
