This fails to compile because one of the following features need to be specified for xtensa-lx: esp32, esp32s2, esp32s3, esp8266.

Ah, thanks! I suppose we should only enable it for the test-build though, not hard-depend on a feature, right?

maybe add these as features?

esp32 = ["xtensa", "xtensa-lx/esp32", "spin"]
esp32s2 = ["xtensa", "xtensa-lx/esp32s2", "spin"]
esp32s3 = ["xtensa", "xtensa-lx/esp32s3", "spin"]
esp8266 = ["xtensa", "xtensa-lx/esp8266", "spin"]

Need to tell xtensa-lx what chip its building for.

Any movement on this? It is blocking me right now. I am happy to help, the continuous integration logs aren't available anymore though
