I'm on XP, using SP3 as well with the latest .net framework update and also
have this
error. The program itself runs fine if the iphone is not plugged in, but when it
is in
tie bar for the program goes half way and then crashes.
Could it be the iphone driver itself?

I had this problem, solved it by uninstalling my version of iPhone Browser and
installing the Beta version from Sept 30.

I had the same problem as above but followed lafindetoi's advice and the program
works perfectly! Don't forget to install the afc2add program in Cydia
