Startup not loading config? #18

Hello!

The application does exactly that what I need: load some VSTs and stay out of sight. Works fine, when I do it manually. I followed the procedure as written, and all is good. Saved the config of course. Issue is upon startup: VoxYou is loaded, but it is as if the config is not loaded. I've got some gate stuff setup for my microphone and it is not applied.

Read through the issues posted here and installed the version from issues 13, where some settings were not saved. No help.

What I curently do upon boot to fix it: right click tray to exit the application, double click the desktop icon, done, issue solved.

Nevertheless it's strange that during the startup it doesn't load the config properly. Anything coming to mind that might cause this?

Thanks!

That does seem weird.

Could you please do the following to verify that the program started at boot is the same that is started through the desktop shortcut:

  1. Open Windows Task Manager (expanded with "More details")
  2. Navigate to the tab "Startup"
  3. Find VoxYou in the list and right click to open the properties
  4. Note the "Location" path
  5. Right click the desktop shortcut and open the properties
  6. Compare the "Location" path to the one from step 4, are they exactly equal?

Thanks for looking into this. Compared the path locations, they are exactly the same. When installing the application, Windows says that it's an untrusted app. Could it be that auto-started untrusted apps do not have access to read config files, while when I start it manually it does? You said you're working on a new version, maybe that will solve it. Is that one still far off? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue as @talalash mentioned here. After restarting my PC VoxYou doesn't seem to get audio routed to it as my plugin detects nothing. Relaunching the application fixes the problem.

I think the problem is that Voicemeeter Potato in my case starts later than VoxYou. Not sure if there's a good fix for that.

Edit: For anyone visiting this thread later. Creating a scheduled task in Windows to launch the application 1 minute after the user has signed in fixed the issue for me.
