If I choose to leave Better Foliage turned on in the "first time options", the game runs unacceptably slow.
However, if I turn it off, the game crashes at world gen, listing Better Foliage as the source of the crash.
EDIT: I tried removing Better Foliage entirely and was able to enter a world. However, I am still getting severe world lag - chunks take forever to appear, and blocks take five or six seconds to break after being broken.
This is on a single player world with ~8GB RAM assigned.
