Features missing from new Search & Replace #1147

Where has the wildcard search gone? 
This was one of the most useful features and regex is no substitute when you 
just need to find something in a hurry.
Also a 'Replace' button would be good for those of us not hooked on keyboard 
shortcuts.

The Replace button is there - to the right of the Replace text box are the 
arrows for Replace previous and next, and replace All.

What can you do easily with wildcards that you can't do with Regex?  i.e.  
instead of * you can just use .*

It was removed because I don't want to maintain multiple search engines. Regex 
can do everything that wildcard can and more. So while the syntax for wild card 
is gone there is not a loss of functionality.
