Feature request - Direct editing of XML type file (.xml) inside Sigil.
Why should it be added?
Most of the people I know and talked with use specific iBook XML
(com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml) to implement special specifications for
the iBook software when they intend to publish book in the Apple store. Even
though it is not ePub compliant, if you want to publish your ePub book with
certain extras (movies, pictures, fixed-layout, original font, etc), you are
required to use this file. As so, I think that anyone that uses Sigil and that
intends to publish eBooks for iPad, be it a company or a personal user, will
need to add and edit the com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml file. As so, I
think that adding the possibility of editing this file directly from Sigil
would be a plus for a lot of people.
How would it be used?
Similar to editing a CSS file, Sigil would open the internal editor directly in
code view without giving the end user the possibility of changing the view to
Book view (not that he needs to view this particular XML file in Book view).
Notes;
This would be a great feature to have, I think. Thanks :)
