"GBG3N" => "S-8261"

Fnirsi replied that they will not optimize the firmware on the HS-01 as it is not relevant. They are already developing another soldering iron. We were abandoned like puppies

Hi, I’m new in this forum. I have fnirsi hs-01 When connecting the power to the adapter, there was a small short circuit, now the soldering iron does not turn on and consumes 0.012-0.020amper and a little smell of burning near type-c port and that's it all. What could have happened and how to fix it? Sorry for my off-topic question.

Please contact the manufacturer, this is not a support forum for their devices unfortunately

Hi friends. I bought the FNIRSI HS-01 soldering iron set. I tried it for testing purposes. It worked beautifully. When I wanted to turn it on on the second day, the device did not turn on. The screen was turning on and freezing. I contacted the company I purchased it from. They somehow sent me the bios, I installed the software, but nothing changed. I contacted the company again and explained the situation. According to what they told me, my power supply was not enough. The fact that the machine I used after trusting it did not turn on the next day could not be a power supply problem. Then our correspondence continued. Finally, I tried running it with different power supplies. And finally, I made a mistake and burned the device by applying reverse current to it. I opened the device and found that the "GBG4P" integrated inside was burned. Unfortunately, I could not find this integrated device in electronics vendors in my country. My searches on the internet were fruitless. I'm waiting for your help. Thanks in advance for everything. IMG-20240213-WA0005 IMG-20240213-WA0009 IMG-20240224-WA0001

It should be a SOT23-6 power management ic. RY8310

Hello. Maybe someone can help

I recently purchased HS-01. When I first connected it (first connected it through a 5v power supply), it showed me that the voltage was low. I connected it to a 9v 2a power supply and it turned on at first and showed an icon that I needed to connect the tip, but after connecting the tip it stopped responding to any current source. Just a black screen and does not respond to any action. Please tell me what can be done and what kind of problem could be.

I look forward to hearing from you.

There is HS-02 available. https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006655028971.html Color HD OLED screen, JBC 245/210 tips can't wait writing tetris for this thing. have no idea what CPU it uses probably the same as FNIRSI HS-01 (CH571F) so it may have BLE also.

Fnirsi replied that they will not optimize the firmware on the HS-01 as it is not relevant. They are already developing another soldering iron. We were abandoned like puppies

That's a shameful behavior.

But the hardware of the HS-02 looks sweet. Color screen, three buttons, kept the cap, compatible with genuine JBC cartridges... I don't quite get the difference between A and B, though. Are they different cartridge systems? Which is which? https://fnirsistore.com/product/fnirsi-hs-02-smart-soldering-iron/

A review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1p6_cPkI1w I hate the weird animation during heating but the rest is not bad at all

Greetings from Ukraine! During the first turn on with the adapter, my soldering iron burned out and smoke came out of it, then the soldering iron did not turn on, the screen did not turn on. The problem was in the inverted DC 5.5x2.1 to Type-C adapter that was included. ATTENTION, be careful! The company representative told me about it already after the breakdown, why doesn't he immediately warn and put a defective adapter? I ordered on AliExpress from the official store, so there were no problems with a free replacement, this is a big plus.

So, when I came here, after reading something, I decided to resolder the burnt microcircuit. I had a GBG4N sort of so I ordered RY8310, I don't know if I chose correctly, because I didn't find a microcircuit exactly like mine. Next, I resoldered the chip, and wow! The screen and the soldering iron worked, but it does not gain temperature (I don’t know what to do next, and whether it is advisable... The temperature is constantly highlighted at 30 degrees and that’s it. I tried to update the firmware, it didn’t help.

Therefore, it turned out that it turned out. Maybe there will be a continuation of this topic...

They are for C245 and C210 tips respectively.

Just joined the forum, after being a lurker for waaaay too long. Started with the MiniWare TS80P, which I still regularly check in here to update with all the magical features being developed for it, really well done all, makes that Iron perform at its best. Last week got my FNIRSI HS02A kit delivered, and WOW, what an amazing Iron, in combination with my ZMI Power Bank that can run it at full steam (20V, 5A, 100W) Cant wait to see what you guys can come up with once the source code can be obtained/ deciphered, which is way above my Architectural paygrade.... WhatsApp Image 2024-06-18 at 12 09 21_6c9df21d WhatsApp Image 2024-06-18 at 12 21 05_aefdbb8f

All things being equal, my current impressions on the FNIRSI HS-02A outperforms and leaves my TS80P in the dust. Heats up faster to high temps, maintains the temp better when soldering a wide gauge wire. And the TOP achievement is the C245 cartridges. When I got the TS80P I ordered it with all the available tips, and now 3 years later, there are ZERO new ones on the market. Comparatively, C245 (Clone or Original) has range of tip styles that can fill pages with product codes.

The source code doesn't need to be obtained. IronOS would replace the current firmware. The question is how much work would the developers need to put into adapting IronOS to yet another hardware. It does look like a great piece, I wish to see it supported one day (or an inspiration for a Pinecil V3) but that's a lot of work for very few users.

It would be really cool if the Developers do build on this platform to use IronOS, as from a hardware perspective, the HS-02 is a superior choice to much of the USB PD soldering irons out there currently. Just using C245 cartridges gives it a huge hardware upgrade path for choice of tips you want to have in your kit.

I'm happy to schedule looking into adding support if the manufacturer shares schematics. I'll also accept a PR for support if someone wants to work on this

I just got a reply from the supplier, and unfortunately it is the same as with others who tried "The information is the Engineer's secret" Pity, awesome hardware, but using a locked Firmware...

Someone on Reddit has taken the HS-02A apart:

I will ask there if he might be able to assist.

Just my 2 cents, but in my opinion, it makes sense to create a new issue for the HS-02, since it's different from HS-01.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm personally still hoping that the HS-01 gets IronOS support sometime (same for Miniware MHP50)

But spamming this issue with HS-02 stuff is needless in my opinion.

Done Sir:

As stated earlier in this thread, the HS-01 is now outdated and replaced by the HS-02, leaving little to no hope of continuing the search for support for the HS-01. Even FNIRSI don't seem interested in the old version anymore, pushing sales on the new models.

Nickduino commented 2 months ago

Even FNIRSI don't seem interested in the old version anymore

Isn't that an argument in favour of an open-source firmware?

Indeed it is, but still the hurdle of getting technical information out of them. If talk progress positively with the store rep I'm in contact with, I'll ask them about the HS-01 too.
