I'd like to financially express my gratitude for the development of AltSnap.

It's a huge performance boost for me. I already donated to AltDrag, and your contributions to it are awesome, too.

I know it's a complicated situation since AltSnap is a fork. I wonder maybe you and Stefan could figure out something.

The fact that it is a fork is not legally an issue, the source is under GPL and any fork can get donations, I could even sell AltSnap legally, as long as I provide the source code (which I do). Of course I will always keep the binary free. The issue is the legal status of the donations in the country I live in. I am not 100% sure the administrative procedure I should follow to have the right to receive money for AltSnap. I could start an enterprise but the social charges will be for sure heavier than what I could ever dream to get as a revenue even with a very successful software (SumatraPDF, the best PDF viewer for windows btw, just gets around $200 a month on Patreon). So an enterprise is a non option plus It would be impossible to combine with most of the Jobs I got. There is also the option of starting an association and get donations, but here also the administrative procedures are quite complex, and I am not sure when it will be worth it. It will eventually come. But I cannot "just get money into my paypal or bank account" in my country, even if I declare everything. I do appreciate the attention though.

I think donations have a special status, so that you can receive a small amount per year without much hassle. That is what I read about ArchiSteamFarm, whose author lives in Poland as far as I know. I read the simplest (and best) option is Github Sponsor.

I'm in the same boat. I'd love to contribute in some way. In my opinion modern Windows is unusable without AltSnap. The 1 pixel border widths are impossible to grab and moving the mouse all the way to the title bar is absurd.

My work computer is 100% locked down and I find it so frustrating to try to navigate and arrange 10 Windows without AltSnap. IT won't vet the app so I'm stuck.

MS PowerToys however is in the approved list of programs that's maintained and vetted. Is there any chance to pool money together for you to submit AltSnap to MS PowerToys? There was a previous request for AltDrag that seems to have stalled due to funding or time. Is Patreon an option for you in your country? Is there some way to see if there's a collective interest to support PowerToys integration?
