Print/Export to PDF #3715

@NetNewsWire I'm enjoying using NNW, but I'd like to be able to save the articles to PDF or printing to PDF (for reading on an e-ink reader). Exporting to PDF doesn't seem possible. Is this deliberate or an omission? Could it be added please? Thank you.

I would like to save articles locally. On Firefox I use an addon called SingleFile to dump a webpage into a single file container to keep a local copy.

However, a more optimal layout is that I get from an RSS reader. Currently to make all pages use a single layout I run them through a read-it-later service like Wallabag and save the result from there.

I see two ways to support this:

  1. Allow printing of articles. In this case the print dialog can be set to store the result as PDF.
  2. Add an option to save the rendered RSS article as HTML. Not sure how to deal with images.

Elsewhere Brent has said that it's not a feature on the roadmap. However, basic OS-native printing support would be very welcome.

I'd love to know the reason it's not on the map.
