This ticket is sort of a generalized, two-birds-in-one-stone deal. In NetNewsWire on my Mac, I can't rearrange my feeds and folders in any other way except alphabetized, with the folders at the bottom. It also feels clunky to have to use obstructive dialog boxes to add or rename feeds.
I think the sidebar could be much more useful if it had some of the features of other apps, like Mail or Safari Bookmarks. In those, you can simply drag items to rearrange them; and when you rename an item, the name turns into a text box you can edit. In Mail, you can also right-click inside a category (like "On My Mac") to add a new mailbox, as opposed to clicking a separate button in a different location. Popovers (the bubbles that fly out when doing Quick Look) could replace dialog boxes, because popovers are less obstructive and are more streamlined. Could this be possible for NetNewsWire?
