New content slow to appear after crossing the International Date Line #4185

I flew from the US to NZ on 12/26 Central time, landing on 12/28 NZ time. NNW was open on my laptop. I noticed that I seemed to not be getting updates on my feeds, but initially dismissed it as just being in a weird time zone and everyone updating at US-centric times.

However, I just checked and saw that the most recent post on Metafilter was from 1/2. I tried manually refreshing, and I had zero unread posts. I then quit NNW and relaunched it, and it immediately fetched a bunch of posts that now show up as from 1/4 and 1/5 (but not 1/2 and 1/3!). I'm pretty confident that site hasn't gone a day without a post.

Maybe something strange was going on with the HTTP caching?

Actually, looking at non-Metafilter feeds, I'm seeing posts from 1/2 and 1/3. I follow a Tumblr that posts a GIF a day, and the updates from 1/2-1/5 (posted 1/1-1/4 their time, because the one with the 1/2 date mentions being the first of the new year).

What kind of account are you using? On My Mac, iCloud, Feedbin, Feedly, or …?

iCloud. And I also have NNW on my phone linked with iCloud, and may have used it a few times since arriving in NZ, if that's relevant.
