I'm having the same issue on iOS as well. Doesn't seem to be an issue on macOS.
I've resorted to removing and re-adding Feedly each time I want to read new stuff, but really just means I end up not using the app.
This just started happening to me maybe three days ago, but now it seems to work again. Here is all that I did:
In NetNewsWire Settings, Account on iOS:
Some time after that I noticed it was not syncing. The app would look like it was syncing, and would update the “Updated” text at the bottom of the main screen after a sync, but no new posts would be visible. I had cleared all of my unread items previously, and just have “Feedly” “Uncategorized” disclosures open.
I removed Feedly, then added it back, and saw similar to the people above — initially it would show new items. I would read them all, clear them. Then next sync would not grab new posts. I would verify by looking directly in the Feedly UI that there were new posts though.
I then removed the MetaFilter feed from Feedly thinking that was an issue. Removed Feedly account, readded, but same no sync after first sync issue.
I tried deleting the app and reinstalling, then adding Feedly back, but same behavior.
Then I set “On My Phone” to be Active in the accounts area. I noticed I had about 10-15 feeds listed there, with lots of overlap with feeds I have in Feedly. I removed all of the feeds under “On My Phone”, then turned that back to not Active, then added back Feedly.
Since then, the feeds in Feedly seem to sync now.
I’m not sure if that was just luck of timing, Feedly was weird about syncs after the first sync, or if the “On My Phone” setup was interfering.
I gave this a try, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me.
With NNW for iOS (and a Feedly account if that matters), my feeds will often fail to refresh upon launching the app or attempting a manual refresh. No error message is displayed, and the syncing progress bar completes as normal. The issue is persistent across several days, though syncing is intermittently successful.
Deleting and re-adding the Feedly account seems to resolve the issue temporarily, but it soon recurs.
