The reason we do it with folders after top-level-feeds is because it’s likely that top-level feeds are extra-important to you, and feeds-in-folders are less important.
That said, it’s something we could consider for the future.
(As an option, of course.)
Understood. Just for reference, here is how I choose to group my feeds in Feedbin.

This is the exact opposite for me. If I've categorised a feed into a folder, it's important to me.
I agree @edjw , I have no feed that is not inside a folder.
I use Feedbin folders (or tags) to group some of my feeds but NetNewsWire lists these last in the feeds pane. Would it be possible to list them first?
This would replicate the way Feedbin lists them.
