Hi I have been unable to burn DVDs very succesfully I've tried Handbrake, and i've treid MakeMKV. I've even paid money for VideoProc, Sio far VidCoder HAS BEEN THE BEST BUT that's not saying much The problem is that each and every single time I try to rip a track, the app stops before the track is done and tells me "job finished" Finished by fat ugly behind! AT best I can get 20 to 40 minute chunks of a track. If I retry each track over and over and over sometimes, just sometimes I'll get one successful rip. I try using new DVDs -- never-before opened DVD packages that have NEVER been touched before and I still get the same results. The rip stops part of the way this is getting tedious and driving me totally insane This is the latest log:

Thanks for the report. VidCoder uses HandBrake for the encoding engine and it looks like it returned "success" for that encode. Can you try it with HandBrake 1.3.0 and see what happens there? It may be an issue with the core HandBrake engine.

This seems to indicate that something at the "DVD read" layer is failing: dvdnav: Read Error, Error reading from DVD.

im a technical moron so bear with me. My suspicion is that the USB3 disc drive I just bought isn't working well and casing the problems When I tried using MakeMKV for example, i got an error reading and the log report said MakeMKV encountered message "this device does not exist" I wonder if the source of my problems inst the dvd drive When I was processing the disc, the FPS reading fluctuated like mad from second to second going from 200 fps down to 30 fps in under a second and back up again

also sometimes I'm more successful if i put the process on pause then ask VidCocder to reload the source disc and then hit resume It seems to kick start the DVD player into behaving better,

also i notice that when the disc information vanishes after a few minutes, often this prompts the rip to stop

Okay, sounds like a hardware issue then. That would make sense given the "dvd read error" messages in the log.
