Cut bands? You mean cropping? It tries to automatically crop based on the sample pictures it takes. But if you don't like the automatic cropping, you can set it manually.

So, if I have an Imax, what do you recommend? how much do you advise me to cut out? unless it's automatic

The "automatic" cropping is a best guess based on the static previews. If you are having trouble with automatic cropping I would recommend setting it manually and checking what the picture looks like.
