VidCoder 6.41 hangs with private made DVD's #901

I am using VidCoder 6.41, as it just updated. Unlike the previous version earlier today, I am not able to rip my own intellectual material off of DVD's with 6.41. These are privately recorded DVD's, and not copyrighted or encoded with DRM protection. I updated to .Net 5 through Windows Update FIRST. When I go to open the "G" drive and add the DVD, it is smooth. I add the DVD contents to the Queue, which works. I verify my pathway... no problems. When I press "|>" aka ENCODE, it hangs at 0:00, with 0 FPS. I have waited an hour with this version stuck at 0.0%. I had to stop the program, noticing that nothing was written or reserved as a title in my path of the DVD video attempted. The program did not stop, when I realized I needed the task manager to stop the tree process. The Task manager showed no CPU usage, beyond 0. This process was attempted on generic rip settings for 480p and with some de-interlacing and also de-noising... all done separately. Also note that Pause and Stop were both grayed out. This was not the case earlier today, before I upgraded. 5.21 worked beautifully. I will roll back versions to the last working version and uncheck "Automatic Updates."

Please note: I am on Windows 10 (Build 19043.1288), Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10870H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21, 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable), on an ASUSTek laptop.

Can you post the encode log? Can you try with Global Options -> Process -> Use Worker Process to Encode unchecked?

Boxxxxxx commented 3 years ago

I cannot, as I had to uninstaller VidCoder 6.4 and NET 5.0, just to get Vidcode 5.2 to work. And when I uninstall, I uninstall all traces of a program. The logs no longer exist. 5.2 is working great. Ripped 4 DVD's since my post.

You can make a backup of %appdata%\VidCoder\VidCoder.sqlite and run the portable version of 6.41. I won't be able to fix it without additional information on the error.

Well, maybe keep the post up. The reason is that some others may have the same exact issue.
