Constant Importing #172

I recently switched to docker-lidarr-extended from the base linuxserver docker. Since switching I have noticed that lidarr is endlessly importing/modifying several albums that previously existed. In the history it just shows "Track file tags updated" and "Existing tags scrubbed" for each track within the albums in question. I cannot seem to figure out what is special about these albums vs the rest of my library. I'm up to 11544 pages of history, and if I go to one of the albums in question and click on history it doesn't load. All of the files in question have 777 permissions and are owned by the lidarr user.

Any thoughts on what could be happening? This never happened prior to switching to docker-lidarr-extended. I used to use the original automusicdownloader script without any issue. Is there an option I may have switched incorrectly?

Few questions.

  1. Were you on develop branch previously? (Could be a difference in version behavior)
  2. What are your Metadata settings? (Lidarr Web UI -> Settings -> Metadata) (You mentioned scrub is enabled, but not the other settings)
  3. What are your connect settinsg? (Lidarr Web UI -> Settings -> Connect)

If it is simpler you can provide screen shots of the relevant sections.

If I had to guess, its related to your connect and metadata settings. This is assuming that Lidarr or the Script is not actually downloading a new album and importing every time...

  1. No, it is possible this is difference in version behavior from stable to dev branches and that it's not related to the script or the "Optimal Settings" that were set. Could it be related to lidarr-extended taking over the pre-existing lidarr config/cache/etc?
  2. That is what's interesting, scrub actually isn't enabled. It's just what Lidarr says it's doing. I have it set to tag all files with metadata on import only and Kodi/Emby enabled as a metadata consumer with all options enabled image
  3. MetadataPostProcess.bash is enabled on track retag. Plexnotify is enabled on release import, upgrade, and rename. I don't use Plex and have it disabled in my docker-compose.yml. I do have configureLidarrWithOptimalSettings=true set.

Change both MetadataPostProcess.bash and Plexnotify to import, upgrade only to see if that helps.

If that does not help, try disabling MetadataPostProcess.bash entirely. The script only does a few minor things, that aren't technically required but more of a nice to have feature...

That seems to have fixed the endless imports. Now that they've stopped, I can (sometimes) see history on albums to see what's actually been happening. It looks like there's a mismatch in naming preferences somewhere. In this example it was alternating between {Album} ({Year}){disc}{track} - {Title} and {Album}{track} - {Title}

Since making the change it appears that in at least some situations I'm left with a mix of naming schemes

What's interesting to me is that neither of these are the way that Lidarr is configured to name files. In Media Management Lidarr is set to name with {Artist CleanName} - {Album Type} - {Release Year} - {Album CleanTitle}{ (Album Disambiguation)}/{medium:00}{track:00} - {Track CleanTitle}.

The naming that is configured by autoconfig script is as follows: Standard/Multidisk format: {Artist CleanName} - {Album Type} - {Release Year} - {Album CleanTitle}{ (Album Disambiguation)}/{medium:00}{track:00} - {Track CleanTitle} Artist Folder Format: {Artist CleanName}{ (Artist Disambiguation)}

If it keeps renaming them, that seems like a Lidarr issue of sorts... Lidarr handles/manages all files/media.

No, but maybe. This might be a Lidarr issue and not related to the scripts after all.

Looks like I have a host of files showing in as unmapped files and the activities being performed are attempting, but failing for some reason, to import them. I don't think that's related to your scripts though.
