Spliting each feature into their own "package" file sounded like a good idea, until it severely impacted the startup time.
Migrating all of them into a single Org file seems to yield much faster startup, and I can even control the load order without messing around with the filename.
While the initial effort is done, There are a lot of features yet to be migrated.
