Attach Failure - DL_DCCH AuthenticationAndCipheringReq Not sent #29

Hello,

I am trying to connect my phone to OpenBTS-UMTS, I can see the network however I am unable to connect, I noticed that the phone sent the attach request but the station didn't answer with DL_DCCH AuthenticationAndCipheringReq. Can anybody help please. Please find below the logs and the config :

Are you sure you are trying with SIM cards with poor GSM Auth and non-UMTS auth? UMTS challenge is not supported yet

Hi Ivanbabanov, Thanks for your answer ! Currently I am using the sysmoUSIM, from their doc it is a USIM/SIM and It supports both the 3GPP MILENAGE authentication algorithm, as well as the COMP128 family. if those algorithm are not supported with openBTS-UMTS please advise about which algorithm we should use and if possible which sim card you have successfully tested.

I think your SIMcard should be fine then. Did you checked wireshark between OpenBTS-UMTS and subscriber register? Do you see 200-OK responses to registration req from SGSN side?
