Better display of dataset size #17

Display number of items for large datasets using thousands separators; maybe 
"1.2 million" for 
large ones.

Keeping it simple, the list now uses thousands separators. Since there is no 
detail view, it seems like a bad idea to not provide the exact number of 
records. Will be part of 2.2.
