modification defintion could be uploaded as a separate file. This could be in the forma of the used xi-config or in form of the json-format as used by the knownmodification request from xiannotator.

yes, there's all kinds of things we could do.

One of them is upload the data using the recognised standard, mzIdentML, and then the modifications masses are already provided.

Another is make up yet more data formats of our own.
