AQ2:Rev alternate balance (new fork or cvar) #54

@dynamic0 has proposed a rebalance, which looks interesting. The gameplay is too different to be part of TNG, but it would be a good thing to try out as a fork or mode set by cvar.

The AQ2 Rev. info can now be found at: https://aq2-tng.com/aq2-rev/ This will be the most up-to-date one aswell.

This idea has too much changes and should not be a fork. It should be new mod based on openffa or openTDM to eliminate all the rights of different developers...

Raptor007 commented 7 years ago

It does seem like too many changes for a cvar, but I think it makes more sense to fork from TNG than from a different mod.

stan0x commented 7 years ago

i agree with m4son. Bad idea from my opinion.

Raptor007 commented 7 years ago

Hmm, why the opposition? This would be a separate branch. I would never bring these kinds of massive gameplay changes into TNG.

dynamic0 commented 7 years ago

As Raptor said, this would obviously be a separate try-out branch, which - if it seems reasonably adequate - would then be imported to some servers for more people to try out. I'm not forcing any new changes to the game's current state ( and TNG ), I'm just trying to invent something new, which, in my opinion, would be not only refreshing to the scene, but maybe a succesful renewed version of Action Quake 2
