Possible Bug: Custom resolution not kept with 1920 x 1080 resolution files. #102

OpenPHT.zip

Windows is setup with a custom resolution of 1824x1026, to prevent overscanning on TV. It all used to work well, but sometime since I've started using OpenPHT, I've noticed that full res 1920x1080 files will change the windows resolution when starting to play. You can click the '\' key and see half the windows taskbar below the bottom of the screen, also the playback seek bar is half cut off. When this video stops playing in OpenPHT it does back to the to custom resolution.

Seems possibly related to the setting to change refresh rates at the start/stop of playback.

Old PHT does not have this issue.

The setting for 'change refresh rates at the start/stop of playback' will change to a resolution@refresh rate that best matches the video size and fps.

Have you tried to use the video calibration in OpenPHT instead of using a custom resolution?

Hi Kwiboo,

Using the calibration is perfect on full out, becuase I have already sized the whole desktop correctly, using the a custom resolution, which makes it work for other programs on the MCPC, youtube, netflix other programs etc. It's a bit hard to drive with the edges of the screen missing. Although it does boot and mainly run Plex for the kids.

The old Plex PHT and possibly the earlier OpenPHT would only switch refresh rates with that setting, but leave the custom resoultions as is. The refresh rate would change to 60i for 30p videos, and 50i for 24p which would give the best results for smoothness.

Cheers, Andreas
