Issue: 'Add to Queue' adds to front of queue instead of end of queue #230

I've noticed that when I press q to add things to the queue it pushes the most-new selection to the front of the queue, which makes it difficult to curate a little playlist. If this requires a log let me know; since this wasn't an error per se I haven't logged.

Isn't this issue based on a misunderstanding ? A queue and a playlist are really two different things. And in OpenPHT (as in other Plex clients) there are separate context commands for adding a media entry either to the queue or to some playlist.

I'm not sure if all the commands have keyboard shortcuts, but they are accessible by pressing the 'C' key to open the context menu of a media item. Doing it by first adding them to the queue and then adding the queue items to a playlist seems impractical to me.

No it's not a misunderstanding. A queue by definition indicates a line with new data going to the back of the line. Do you go queue at the front of line at a bank or to the back of the line? A queue is technically a playlist because I want to queue up X albums or songs to play in sequence.

And to be honest, OpenPHT treats whatever upcoming music that's been selected as a playlist. Look at the photos attached. I selected a Tom Petty album, and then wanted to queue the Talking Heads album. You'll see it doesn't actually queue to the end of the line, but the Talking Heads album cuts right into the line, separating the Tom Petty album, and that makes the queuing function worthless.

After adding Talking Heads, 32 items, splitting Tom Petty album 1/2 After adding Talking Heads, 32 items, splitting Tom Petty album 1/2

And this isn't to say it has to be fixed, you know? I just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention!

That's the misunderstanding I referred to. (so there I wasn't talking about the queue order). A playlist is a sequence that you can save and playback whenever you want to, any number of times. But a queue is more of a one-time thing, not intended for repeated use like a playlist.

But regardless of that difference I do agree with you that added media should enter the queue at its end, not at its front, so that playback occurs in the same order as the additions were made.
