HD audio bitstreaming not working #265

I have seen a few posts about the issue, but none solve my problem.

Installed openpht generic in a VM with a amd 6350 passed through. Enabled passthrough and selected all the boxes saying my receiver can handle the formats. In the menu and with not hdaudio formats, I get sound.
I have long been able to run Kodi/libreelec/openelec with this same configuration and it works. Therefore, I know my hardware and configuration should be right. I was trying to make the switch to Plex, but this little snag has that plan on hold

OpenPHT: 1.8 generic

Issue is related to refresh rate/video output. Once configured for 60Hz, everything worked.
