Info bar stays visible after time seek and pause #76

Open silleh opened 8 years ago

silleh commented 8 years ago

Using 1.6 embedded on an Asus Chromebox

The info bar al the bottom of the screen stays visible after using time seek. I also noticed now that it stays when using the pause button. (Obviously the bars stays when resuming the video...)

This happens with different media, and it is random. Sems to fix itself with a reboot only to return again later

Kwiboo commented 8 years ago

How do you seek, pause and continue playback? Keyboard/remote/plex app? A short description with steps describing what buttons you press, what happens and what you expect to happen etc would be helpful.

Example:

  1. Start playback of video and no osd is shown
  2. Press right on keyboard to seek +30s, osd is shown
  3. Playback continues after seek and osd is still shown after 10s

Edit: Is it only using time-seek or also regular skip forward/backward? I noticed similar issue in a test-build but haven't seen similar issue in a while.

silleh commented 8 years ago

I am using a Harmony remote and an USB IR receiver - nothing programmed, works out of the box.

1 - Pressing pause on the remote, pauses the video, showing the osd. Pressing play, resumes the video but the OSD stays 2 - Pressing the left arrow (keyboard left) seeks -15s, video shows and osd stays. 3 - Using the rewind function on the remote, rewinds the movie, osd shows and stays.

So its time seek and regular skip forward/backward.

After rebooting the Chromebox, the osd is back to normal. I have just pressed the left button 15 times or so and normal behavior.

NedtheNerd commented 8 years ago

As this appears to be functioning correctly, closing issue.

silleh commented 8 years ago

Apologies - but this keeps returning - the reboot will only fix it temporary.

NedtheNerd commented 8 years ago

This is not normal behaviour, the issue cannot be replicated, a new release is due out later today, can you please create a new install for this rather than taking the update route, you may have some corruption.

silleh commented 8 years ago

Willdo - thanks

silleh commented 8 years ago

Just to bring this up - I've installed (clean) 1.6.1 and the bar stays visible when using pause/resume/fforward etc..

Should a new issue be opened ?

Kwiboo commented 8 years ago

What skin is uses and can you reproduce this issue using default skin with just the keyboard using: p (play/pause), left, right keys? Would like to rule out remote/keymap issue. Are you using ethernet or wifi? Try to reproduce issue on ethernet if you use wifi.

Edit: Also enable debug logging in preferences and add a link to your log-file from the period when you seek and at least 1-2 minutes after the osd has stayed on screen.

silleh commented 8 years ago

Skin is the original black skin - problem reproduced with keyboard.

Box was on wifi - took me some time to put it on ethernet, but makes no difference (wifi is 300mb and ethernet is 1gb)

At 19:46:42 T:140366198073088 0 the video starts. At 19:46:51 T:140367595108352 I rewind pressing left You can find multiple presses.

I left it running for almost 2 minutes - strangely, the osd disapeared about a minute later ? (cant find it in log) plexhometheater.txt

NedtheNerd commented 8 years ago

Can you change to the default OpenPHT skin and advise whether the issue is still there.

silleh commented 8 years ago

I am using the default skin (the one from the log file)

Currently using the Black skin to see if I have the same issue

Massaguana commented 8 years ago

Here are an behave like the OSD stay visible... but other. some times the OSD is invisible when i seek... the seek are done but the OSD are invisible. Press M on Keyboard the OSD don´t comes up. I must Restart my ChromeBox and OSD are working fine... i use the Black Skin...

silleh commented 8 years ago

Confirm that this also happens with Black Skin - same as Massaguana - sometimes the OSD doesnt even come up.

using keyboard and remote buttons (red, blue, green etc)

vnenovd commented 8 years ago

I can confirm this on Intel NUC running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with OpenPHT 1.6.2 (both compiled and downloaded the .deb package). Sometimes the OSD will not show at all, sometimes it shows up after few minutes. It happens on the default and Black skin as well. A restart of OpenPHT fixes the issue until it reappears. It started happening since the first 1.6 release. Rel. 1.5.2 did not have this issue.

MrPedroG commented 8 years ago

happening to me too osd stays on permanently while playing im using 1.6.2 running on win 7 x64 normally exiting to windows and reopening avoids issue for the next first play

MrPedroG commented 8 years ago

i can confirm this was happenning too in two prev. releases before 1.6.2

gigelu commented 8 years ago

Using OpenPHT (1.6.2) on a QNAP, controlled with QRemote (android app). Can reproduce every single time, when I use play/pause/seek, the OSD comes up and never closes, I have to restart the video for it to disappear.

Edit: I bought a remote control for my QNAP and now I can hit the back button on it and the OSD closes.

I am having the same problem as well!

normanu commented 7 years ago

Same problem here aswell. I'm running latest OpenPHT git compiled on Arch Linux box. I use the Apple remote for control, through the keymap table. When using the OSD for pausing or seeking it remains and doesn't hide anymore.

Stopping the movie and restarting it again then everything is fine until you pause again. Bit annoying to have to stop the movie everytime if you want to pauze. (problem is not in the 1.5 build)

silleh commented 7 years ago

I have reverted back to 1.6, and applied this 'fix': VSYNC option set to Let the driver choose

evtk commented 7 years ago

Having exact same issue. Any progress on this? Thanks!

silleh commented 7 years ago

No not yet. See my fix above, 1.6 has been fine!

bjay1404 commented 7 years ago

I would just wipe the rasplex and restore most recent release.
