OpenPHT: OpenPHT-1.6.1.120-4ab39d17 - tested on Default Skin and Aoen Nox - Win 10x64Pro PMS: 0.9.17.2 on Win8 64bit Pro. (Home Videos Library for this file)

Was watching a HEVC file before, no issue starting from beginning or seeking through the file in openPHT, but if i stop and try and resume from previous stop point, OpenPHT crashes back to desktop

tested on both default and Aoen Nox skin, same behaviour.

I tried resuming in VLC on this file, worked normally.

im not super worried about this or anything but thought id report it since it crashes to desktop if you would like to have a look up to you

Thanks for reporting the issue, crashes to desktop is always serious issues. Can you reproduce the crash with other HEVC H.265 files or is it just this particular one?

dan-the-man-nz commented 8 years ago

i just tried a second HEVC file, different to the first from a different group etc

played normally when i started from beginning from file - no issue there BUT if i play from resume time, it didnt crash, but no video is displaying just a black screen, only audio. also OpenPHT is not responding to any keypress's, remote etc. If i use the mouse to click into the video, get OPENPHT is not responding. had to crash out of it to get back to desktop,

I take it it is the same without Teamviewer? It's not really fair to test using Teamviewer as it will attempt to send sound causing more issues.

NedtheNerd commented 8 years ago

Hmmm.. Do you get the same issue when running OpenPHT natively and not using TeamViewer, which I assume is connecting to a remote instance of Windows with OpenPHT running?

dan-the-man-nz commented 8 years ago

I only use teamviewer to take the screenshots/gif of the problem to post in the issue thread - nothing more than that - the problem occurs natively - has nothing to do with teamviewer

NedtheNerd commented 8 years ago

Can you provide a link to a clip of the problem video?

Hi

couple more things, i can replicate the same issue on 2 machines with intel display adapters, but Not on 2 other machines with Nvidia display adapters.

i tried a few different intel drivers versions, no change. on those machines with the intel adapters, i tried several different players, VLC, MPC with the same files, no issues at all they play/seek/resume normally, so only seem to have the problem in OpenPHT so far.

i used handbrake to create a 8 minute clip as you asked on the first file where it crashes to desktop in the first post on resume, (which it still does crash playing the clip)

the problem appears to be linked to "Allow hardware acceleration - DXVA2" been enabled, on my intel machines, turning this off in playback settings- advanced video and im no longer having any issues with crashing on h265 media

The Intel graphics are HD5000 which does seem to support DXVA2

Thank you for posting your fix here was having the same issue and turning off HW acceleration fixed it right up.
