Bugfixes t the versioning page and more clean up of the workflow. Biggest change is to split the metadata handling in two parts configuration(in the beginning) and making the PR in the end.

I have rebuilt main to include these changes.

If you just want to check the results of a PR or other changes there is now a working site.yml, so you could just rebuild managed_plugins. This is what I do...
