Hehe I don't mind comments. The HDMI script in the root of the repo fixes the external display issues. Try running that instead. Also sidenote, you're.not using my serial number I hope? :P
The HDMI script does fix HDMI (that's why I renamed), but tb3 doesn't work. I don't have dp cable, so I can't test that. I'm not using your serial number, just a random one from clover :)
Thunderbolt3 is a completely different problem. It's just straight up not working. The hot plugging kext isn't working right, IDK what MSI did to the chip. And our displayport is wired through the Nvidia card so it'll never work in hackintosh :/ MSI appearantly doesn't know how to connect ports right...
:( I though all display output done by Optimus goes through intel, even for external monitors, so the dp is outputted by Nvidia. IDK, but that's my guess. MSI's firmware and hardware and hardware has been a pain for me. Low battery life, loud fans, etc. As of TB3, it seems like hotplugging is broken for all (yikes). I think that TB3 prob needs acpi edits. BTW, great job on Lineage!
Here might be a solution for using external monitors: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/msi-gp72vr-7rf-with-sierra-10-12-6.246672/page-3. We can let the Nvidia gpu run (by disabling the ssdt that disables it) and installing the Nvidia web drivers. I have no idea how it might work, but I'll try
That won't work on our laptops because we have Optimus. Unless someone's found a workaround for that?
Yeah looks like you are right, but the person in the thread does have Optimus, but hasn't reported back. Our best bet would prob to get type c to work. IDK if msi uses their own tb3 chipsets, but we can try to find the model and see if it is used in other working hackintoshes systems.
Na. They use the Intel Alpine ridge ones. It works if you have the device plugged in on boot. I have a USB-C to HDMI dongle that also works fine so I know that the port works fine in Mac. Just hot plugging after boot is the issue

Thanks, Rashed Abdel-Tawab
I use a usb type c to dp adapter, which results in an unresponsive computer with a black screen, while it works in other OS like Ubuntu and Windows, so I'm assuming its a problem with MacOS.
I don't know if you want issues to be put here, but I'll close it if not. I see that the current configuration uses MacbookPro13,3 for SMBIOS. Unfortunately, this does not work for the GS60, and either iMac14,2 or MacbookAir6,2 will do. These definitions do not work with just changing the SMBIOS, and may require ACPI edits.
