I'm not against it, but more users would need to request it, as you are the only one for the moment.
Perhaps put up a poll on Patreon? I wasn't even aware that this was a thing before (or that it had an API), so it seems possible that many users would be in the same boat and I am not sure how many check Github.
Doing polls for the RPDB patrons is a good idea. I will most probably do this after I finish the current important tasks for the project.
Awesome, thanks.
Any hints on what those tasks are? Anything exciting? :stuck_out_tongue:
It depends on how you use RPDB. Currently I'm working on:
?byName=Inception
to the poster URL it will show the poster for the Inception movie anyway)Oh, nice set of features.
I will probably make use of only the Anime Ratings 😅 but it's still nice to see.
Just checking, any chance you got some time to make any progress on this?
I like the CSM ratings and the idea behind them, as initially stated though, what is implemented should ultimately be the RPDB user's choice.
Regarding making a poll for it, i'm still ok with that, but still too full atm.
The rule of thumb is that we will definitely not implement more ratings until we are done with anime ratings first. (which will always be in higher demand than other ratings, and work on anime ratings has already been started)
Generally speaking, every new type of rating added amplifies the work required to keep RPDB a stable service, so great care will always be taken to ensure that all current rating sources are stable and working properly for a given amount of time before others can be added.
I have added CSM age rating to the rating-order
poster type for Tier 3+
Complete list of ratings that can be used with this new poster type: 'imdb', 'tmdb', 'trakt', 'tomatoes-critics', 'tomatoes-audience', 'metacritic-critics', 'metacritic-audience', 'letterboxd', 'rogerebert', 'myanimelist', 'commonsense'
This new poster type is currently documented in the api docs under "More Ratings": https://rpdb.docs.apiary.io/#reference/0/more-ratings
The API currently supports it, but it has not beed added to the RPDB Folders app, I will close this issue once it's added to the app too.
Love the rating-order
poster. Thanks.
For the commonsense
rating, would it be possible to make it a badge instead, since it's not strictly a rating of the movie as the others but instead a content rating?
Also, would it be possible to return the commonsense rating in the response headers as a custom field when requested in the API via the order? I want to build out collections based on the commonsense ratings and want to avoid paying extra for something like mdblist just for that if I can get the info from here itself.
Hi, just a bump in case you missed the comment. Not pushing for it.
Hi, I will most probably add the badges but I believe the header request is outside the scope of this project..
Hi,
Any news on the CSM badge?
sorry for the late reply, i was on vacation and completely forgot to answer when i came back
this is still planned, but i am currently rewriting the entire service with other tech to improve speed and reliability
Hi,
Any progress with this?
Hi, any progress on this?
@darthShadow Sorry for not answering sooner, I recently moved to a new city, still unpacking. I made the badges but did not add the logic yet, I am trying to find the time to do it.
Sure, no problem. Just wanted to bump it in case it had slipped through the cracks.
Enjoy the holidays.
